This was a ride did with his cycling club Seacroft Wheelers starting 23rd July 2011 from Morcambe to Bridlington with donations taken for Yorkshire Cancer research.

The plan was:

1. drive to Morecambe Friday 22nd July
2. B n B in Morecambe on Friday night
3. ride Morecambe to Brid Saturday 23rd July
4. B n B in Brid on Saturday night
5. ride back to Leeds frm Brid on Sunday 24th July

The route we're taking from Morecambe to Brid is 134 miles. Varied route, some hills but not overly demanding.

Eight did the route (from the attached photo right to left) are Ian Wood, Fred Lynn, Ben, Alan Bodell, John Baarda support driver, Jude Taylor, Andy Shearman and Pete Dickinson.

They arrived in Brid 6.30pm some thoughts from the day.

Longest ride so far for Jude and Ben.

Only two punctures in the 1208 cyclist miles (134 miles x 7 and 45 x 6) - 1st (and only) prize to Ian W for achieving both - might have been different if Brumbleboy had taken part .

Ulrimate accolade to John for his unerring support, particularly in the middle of nowhere when he stopped us to point out we were on the wrong route, and total commitment to ensuring we were all properly fed and watered.
Without him, we'd never have made it.

Finally, mucho gratitude to all those who supported us with generous donations to our chosen charity.

Sounds like a good time was had by all, some comments attached, Ben it would seem was dreaming of cake most of the way there !
